Berat is one of the main attractions of the country. It has more than 2400 years of history and is a wonderful combination of eastern and western cultures, costumes, traditions. The city’s life began as an Illyrian settlement. Later, in the 3rd century B.C., it was turned into a castle city known as Antipatrea. During feudalism inside the castle were built churches with precious frescos and icons. Today, the castle is made unique by the fact that people continue to live inside of it.
In 2008, the old town of Berat was added to the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage.

We will visit the Mangalemi district and its attractions. Then we will walk through Gorica district through the Ottoman stone bridge named “‘Ura e Goricës”. “Finally, we will visit the castle of Berat, which is one of the top attractions of the old city.
Here lie diverse interesting churches, and an interesting attraction, the Roman cistern, which has been in use up to the 19th century. The tour ends with the visit of the Onufri museum displaying works of the most important Albanian icon painter with the same name.
