– Hike through villages and scenic farmland that evoke the rhythms of a slower, simpler life
– Hike at your own pace with a digital map in a dedicated mobile app
Today’s destination lies just 27 kilometres from Tirana. The Cyclop’s Eye, a circular pond nestled in the Krraba Gorge, is a striking sight, fed by a branch of the Erzeni River which forms a beautiful waterfall. The setting is peaceful, with only the soft sound of flowing water echoing through the dense greenery.
The hike begins in Krrabë, a village located at about 430 meters elevation. The first part of the trail climbs gradually on a mix of paths and tracks, passing through farmland and quiet rural homes. It’s an easy-going ascent with open views along the way.
After leaving the last homes of the village of Skuterrë behind, the trail descends into the Murdharë River gorge. The path is slightly rougher here, with rocky terrain and a few turns before reaching the Cyclop’s Eye.
Once you’ve rested at the pond, you will take a different trail back that passes near the Kërraba climbing zones. This loop connects back to the village path in Skuterrë, and then continues on the same route to return to the starting point.
