The Dënell Plateau lies at an altitude of around 1,600 meters above sea level, southeast of Theth. Framed by a ring of rugged mountain ridges, this high alpine meadow has traditionally been used as summer pastureland. You may still find the remains of old shepherds’ huts scattered across the plateau. In good weather, the plateau offers wide views and a sense of solitude, making it a rewarding destination for day hikers.

The hike begins at the centre of Theth. After exiting the village, the trail heads northeast, gradually climbing through the neighbourhood of Ulaj.
At around 980 meters altitude, you’ll reach a scenic viewpoint providing a broad view over the Theth Valley. From here, the trail continues to climb steeply on loose stones and narrow forest paths. The terrain varies between shaded woodland and occasional open sections. Around 1085m altitude, you’ll leave the forest and enter open ground.

Once on the plateau, the landscape opens dramatically. Surrounded by high peaks, the wide alpine field stretches southward.
The return follows the same route and brings you back to the starting point in Theth.
